The method for banding an explosion-proof band of synthetic resin materials round the side of a panel of a cathode ray tube includes heating the explosion-proof band and the CRT at 90-100 deg.C to install the explosion-proof band on the CRT, thereby reducing the difference of the temperature between the explosion- proof band and CRT joined together to delay the cooling contraction ratio of the explosion-proof band.
