Photographic recording material has light-sensitive Ag halide (AgX) emulsion coat(s) and coat(s) contg. a hardened proteinaceous binder (I), which contains free prim. amino gps. in the unhardened state. The novelty is that (I) contains amino gps. of the formula: -NH-R; R = the radical of a low mol., monofunctional cpd. (II), which has reacted with the free amino gps. of (I) under the casting and/or storage conditions. (II) is of the formula: X-R (IIA); or Y-R' (IIB); X = an activatedatom or gp. attached to a C atom of R, which can be displaced by a N atom of a prim. amino gp.; R = an organic gp. with gp(s) by which X can be activated; Y = an activated gp. to which a prim. amino gp. can be added in a 1,2- or 1,4-addn. reaction; R' = an organic gp., by which the Y gp. can be activated if necessary.
