A paper money separating device, used on financial equipment and configured to accept paper money (60) in piles and separating same one by one. The paper money separating device comprises: an oblique paper money separating base plate (21), configured to obliquely receive and support put-in paper money (60), the edges of the paper money (60) being arranged on the surface of the oblique paper money separating base plate (21), and a bending section (211) being formed by the oblique paper money separating base plate (21) along the separate-out direction of the paper money (60); a paper money pressing plate (11), arranged above the oblique paper money separating base plate (21) and doing reciprocating motion thereon; a paper money separating mechanism(1), arranged at one end, of which the position is slightly lower, of the oblique paper money separating base plate (21), clamping separation on the paper money (60) being formed by the paper money separating mechanism (1) and the paper money pressing plate (11); and a power system, configured to drive the paper money pressing plate (11) and the paper money separating mechanism (1) to realize one-by-one separation of the paper money (60). The paper money pressing plate (11) comprises a main base plate (111) which is close to the oblique paper money separating base plate (21) and a bending plate (112) which is far away from the oblique paper money separating base plate (21) and forms the backward paper money separating mechanism (1). The paper money separating device can reliably separate curled paper money (60), and the structure is simple.
