Appts. has a mixing chamber with inlets for the reagents and an outlet for the mix produced; it has also a control plunger which moves from one position which leaves the inlets open to another by the outlet where the inlets are closed, and fillers can also be added directly to the mixing chamber. The appts. has the central plunger moved vertically by a piston into/out of the chamber, which is fed by the reagent inlets. Return bores allow recirculation via the slots on the plunger. The chamber outlet is at the bottom. A third inlet between the end of the plunger and the level of the inlets is for fillers. When a mixing stage has ended the plunger is lowered so that it closes off the inlet and simultaneously opens the recirculation slots. The layout ensures that fillers are fully wetted by the reagents. ADVANTAGE - The design allows even coarse particle fillers to be added to the mix without clogging the outlet nozzle or damaging the recirculation slot.
