The light-viewing unit includes in combination a housing, a system for attachment of the housing to the vessel, a substantially clear fused window, a light-emitting element and a camera-viewer. The clear fused window is fused into a front portion of the housing and positioned in the housing behind the clear fused window is the light-emitting and the camera-viewer. The light-emitting element is capable of illumination of an interior of the vessel through the clear fused window. The camera-viewer is capable of viewing an interior of the vessel through the clear fused window. The clear fused window is fused to the front portion of the housing forming a substantially corrosion-proof seal across an entire distal end portion of the unit. The light-emitting element and the camera-viewer are pointed into the vessel in substantially the same direction.
