A liquid crystal display device and a control method therefor. The liquid crystal display device comprises a liquid crystal display unit (23), a position capture unit (21), a control unit (22) and at least two backlight units (11, 12, 13). The light outgoing directions of the at least two backlight units (11, 12, 13) are different; the position capture unit (21) is configured to collect position information about a user and to feed back same to the control unit (22); and the control unit (22) is configured to acquire, according to the position information, a viewing angle of the user, to control the backlight unit with the light outgoing direction matching the viewing angle to emit light, and to adjust the brightness of the liquid crystal display unit (23) simultaneously so as to make the brightness match the viewing angle. The liquid crystal display device can prevent the loss of image quality of a liquid crystal display screen in different viewing angles. |
