The invention relates to a material using a laminar sheet of wood in a single thickness. This material is characterised in that it consists of a single laminar sheet (1) of wood comprising lines of thread stitching (3 to 6) disposed in a transverse perpendicular direction (3), oblique (4, 4') in crossed directions (4, 4'), in straight lines (3, 3', 4) or in curves (5), with respect to the grain (2) of the wood; zigzag or wave-pattern stitches (6) are also formed in the direction of the wood fibres. The result of these arrangements is that the sheet, called quilted, is capable of being cut and/or folded. <IMAGE>
