The wheel checking arrangement contains mechanical or contactless measurement sensors which enable the variations in the profile to be checked at several monitoring points. The wheel, which is rolling on its rim (2) on an outwardly inclined running surface (4a) of a carrier rail (4), is in contact at the back (5) of the wheel with a number of roller guides (6).The rim and the running surface are associated with measurement sensors (7-9). The reference surfaces required for the measurements are formed by the roller guides, which are arranged with axes parallel to the carrier rail, and the rim in contact with the highest point of the carrier rail.
