Disclosed are an upgrade method and apparatus for a terminal device. The method comprises: a client obtaining system information about a terminal device to be upgraded in a fastboot mode from the terminal device to be upgraded, and sending a first query instruction to a first server so as to query upgrade resource bundle information corresponding to the system information; receiving the upgrade resource bundle information sent by the first server, and downloading the upgrade resource bundle according to the upgrade resource bundle information; and using the upgrade resource bundle to perform an upgrade operation on the terminal device to be upgraded, so that the automatic recognition of system information about the terminal device to be upgraded and the automatic acquisition of a corresponding upgrade file for upgrading a system are realized. The operation during an upgrade process is simple, and the operation experience of a user is improved. |
