The gearbox comprises a base gearbox with an input shaft (7), a main shaft (10), an intermediate shaft (11) and an integral range gear comprising an additional shaft (44) and a disengageable gear wheel (45) cooperating with a disengageable gear wheel (40) on the intermediate shaft and a fixed gear wheel (47) cooperating with a fixed gear wheel (17) on the intermediate shaft. The disengageable gear wheel on the intermediate shaft has a first gear path (41) cooperating with a gear wheel (12) on the input shaft and a second gear path (42) with a smaller diameter than the first path cooperating with the disengageable gear wheel on the additional shaft. When taking a corner in high gear, the load and momentum exerted by the disengageable gear wheel on the intermediate shaft is transmitted directly to the main shaft. When taking a corner in low gear, the disengageable gear wheel on the intermediate freewheels and acts as an intermediate wheel for transferring torque to the intermediate shaft via the additional shaft. |
