Stator-integrated cooling chamber alternator for car engine

The alternator (10) includes a rotor (12) made of a number of polar discs (14A,B) attached to the rotor shaft (16). The rotor is mounted inside an envelope (13) provided in a stator (18) covered by a casing (20). The stator casing includes a cylindrical skirt (22) attached to a radial wall (24). The casing wall is double (26,28) thus defining a cooling chamber (30) which extends over the whole axial length of the skirt. A second radial chamber (32) is defined along the lateral wall. The two chambers communicate with each other and are linked to a cooling fluid circuit (34).
