Hook to open snap hook with extension, used in mountain climbing and sailing

The hook (1) has two teeth (2,3) between which the back of the snap hook is inserted. The hook is then positioned on the finger of the snap hook (D) which is held open. A cord (5) is held in a hole (4) in the bottom of the hook and is wound round the extension (R) to hold them together. The extension is held in a groove (6) in the hook. An elastic ring (7) is held in a slot (9) in the hook and holds the hook on the snap hook. The hook is released by rotating the back (M) of the snap hook.
