The cap is opened by a detachable tongue (7) in its lid. The cap has a top (10) and a peripheral skirt (11). The skirt deforms elastically to fit over the rim of the can while being able to rotate about its axis of symmetry (I-I). The top of the cap also has an aperture (13) surrounded by a mouthpiece (21) from which people drink. Inside the cap there is a seal (14) which is clamped between the cap and the rim of the can. The seal has an aperture (16) in it which can be aligned with the aperture (13) in the mouthpiece for drinking or offset relative to it by rotating the cap to close the can.
