The device may be applied especially to metal soil sieves 6, pneumatic pipes and storage tanks. It gives rise to the direct heating of the application element as the latter forms part of the secondary winding 5 of a transformer 1 whose primary 2 connects with the mains 3 and is formed by groups of turns whose connection may be selected by means of a switch 4 so that it is possible to vary the intensity of current via the secondary 5 and therefore the level of heating of the application element. Said element includes a temperature probe 7 connected to a control unit 8 which acts as a thermostat, allowing or cutting the passage of current via the circuit as a function of selectable temperature thresholds. <IMAGE>
