A method for the preparation of a homogeneous and stable fat/sugar mixture comprises: (a) mixing a pre-selected amount of crushed crystalline, amorphous or syrup form sugar (substitute) with a pre-selected amount of at least one animal and/or plant fat and/or oil and/or hydrogenated fat that has been pre-heated to 30-130 deg C, and optionally (b) adding small pre-selected amounts of suitable additives before or during mixing. The temperature of 30-130 deg C is maintained during mixing, carried out in a vessel containing a stirrer operating at a speed of /- 300 rpm. Mixing is continued until a homogeneous dispersion is obtained, which can be filled into containers and stored for at least 3 weeks at 3-30 deg C without any changes taking place.
