FIELD: gas treatment. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to cleaning gases formed upon combustion of boiler and diesel fuels at heat-and-power plants. Gas is cleaned in presence of catalyst containing 0.1-0.9% manganese oxide, or 0.0001-0.85% copper oxide, or 0.02-0.75% chromium oxide on metal carrier or a catalytic composition containing mixture of metal oxides chosen from the group including copper, manganese, and chromium oxides applied onto carrier in amount 0.0003-0.96%. EFFECT: extended temperature range (300 to 1000 C) and increased conversion of hydrocarbons, oxygen- containing compounds, and carbon monoxide contained in effluent gases (100% at 500 C). 7 cl, 1 tbln
