FIELD: vibration control. SUBSTANCE: device has hold-down sheet attached mechanically to construction being damped by means of staggered bolts. Thickness of hold-down sheet is from 0.5 to 0.05 the width of construction being damped. Space between adjacent attachment points makes up half the bent wave length in hold-down sheet at the lowest frequency of range where it is necessary to reduce vibrations of construction being damped.
