摘要 Magnetic sensors having a ferromagnetic layer structure wherein said layers are interchangeably coupled by means of non-magnetic metal intermediate layers, are used in modern storage technology to read magnetically stored information. If reading is to be precise, accuracy in determining modifiable magnetic resistance should be very high. Accuracy in known magnetic sensors is influenced by intermediate layers of a given constant thickness. Optimization is no longer possible after production. Furthermore, the use of known magnetic sensor is restricted to field sensing. The magnetic resistance of the inventive magnetic sensor can be continuously and reversibly modified and optimized by charging hydrogen on the intermediate layers which consist of Nb exhibiting an affinity with hydrogen or a Cr alloy exhibiting an affinity with hydrogen and having a layer thickness in the core area ranging from 1.3 nm to 1.6 nm. THe inventive sensor can used as a magnetic sensor, specially in comprehensive areas of magnetically-stored information processing, as well as a hydrogen sensor, and can be used to detect totally differing physical measurement variables.
