A domestic water supply which has no ring supplies and uses narrow bore pipes has each consumer position connected to either the hot water manifold or to the cold water manifold by a separate 8mm bore pipe. Each pipe is fitted with a dedicated shut-off valve. The cold water connections all supply drinking quality water. For a multiple dwelling, a main cold water manifold and a main hot water manifold are linked to separate manifolds for each accommodation unit, from where the narrow bore pipes lead to the consumer points. The hot water systems are supplied from the cold water manifolds and the separate cold water manifolds can be fitted with water meters. The narrow bore piping can be laid without the need for corner joints.
