The thermally insulated housing has a vacuum-sealed inner (12,16) and outer (13,17) cladding in U-section form (20,30,35). The space between the layers is filled with insulation material (14). The inner and outer tubular sections are connected at their open end by a seal having side flanges (21,22) approximately as thick as the tubular walls and welded along a line (S). The base section (25) is considerably thinner, to reduce heat conduction.
