When the bow (23) for joining the children's car safety seat to the car seat or another suitable car part is inserted into the slot (21) of the fixing mechanism it acts on a pre-tensioned hook (47) that is lifted in order to accommodate the bow (23). If the bow (23) is inserted correctly the hook (47) engages and locks the bow (23) in the required position. If the bow (23) is not pushed hard enough or is inserted in a tilted position the hook (47) does not lift and the lock (41) is closed before the bow (23) is inserted. The bow (23) is not kept inside the mechanism (1) if it is not appropriately fixed.
