Extraction of aerosol particles from air

The aerosols are extracted from the atmosphere in the temperature range 0-100o C by centrifuge at up to 30,000 rpm. The assembly consists of a chilled block (5) with a pan-shaped surface. A foil (8) is held to the block (5) inner face by a spring clip (9) and vacuum (7). The block (5) has an air inlet (1) and outlet (3) and a motor with rotor (6). The cooling is effected by peltier elements or a cooling thermostat. The foil (8) is polyethylene, polypropylene, or polytetrafluroethylene.
