The guide roller for a moving web, especially of paper or cardboard, has a perforated mantle and at least one inner fan wheel (21) to generate an underpressure and/or overpressure. The suction chamber zone (47) and the pressure chamber zone (45) of the fan wheel (21) are separated from each other by at least one diaphragm. The specification is an addition to 19647919.3. The suction and pressure sides of the fan wheel (21) are directly against the end zones of the roller (3). A fan wheel can be at both end zones of the roller. The fan wheel (21) is an axial or lateral flow wheel. The diaphragm is a ring-shaped dividing wall, which can be fitted to one roller end cover (7). At least one suction tube can be at the fan wheel, linked to the suction chamber. The fan wheel can be at the passage opening of the suction tube. The cross section of the outlet opening of the suction tube at the pressure chamber is smaller than the cross section of the suction opening. The suction tube can be mounted to the diaphragm.
