The fuel supply system supplies fuel from a tank (1) by means of a fuel pump (2) through a filter (3) and a pressure regulator (4). The pressure regulator is fitted before the filter. The closing element (16) of the pressure regulator is not only sprung in the closing direction, but is also subject to a force which is proportional to the drop in pressure at the filter.
