PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device by which an image with sufficiently enhanced resolution is realized against the increase in the number of pixels. SOLUTION: This image pickup device is provided with an image pickup section 5 that picks up an image of an object consecutively within a prescribed time and outputs an image subject to pixel deviation by displacing an incident position on an image pickup element 3 by an incident light from a lens 1 by a very small number of pixels in a prescribed direction and with an image processing section 13 having a high resolution circuit 9 that applies binary processing to a small area based on a signal level mean value in the small area consisting of 3×3 pixels around a processing target pixel of an image pickup signal consisting of color component signals of each image, detects a line segment angle including the processing target pixel based on a predetermined pattern with respect to the signal, divides the processing target pixels into small pixels of a multiple of 2×2, and distributes each of small pixels to have a prescribed signal level according to the detected line segment angle, and an image composite circuit 10 that composes photographed images having been divided into small pixels.
