PURPOSE: The detecting device for an overweight car and a method thereof are provided to get a stable detecting signal by breaking a flowed signal line for protecting from a surge or a thunderbolt flowed from an outer device. CONSTITUTION: The detecting device for an overweight car comprises:a handling process of a controlling signal to be able to perform a display of data; a process to prevent a damage from a surge or a thunderbolt by electrically breaking a communicating circuit included in a first signal processing unit, having a signal changing unit and a picture detecting unit; a process to prevent an error by a mutual interference by electrically separating power of the first signal processing unit and a second signal processing unit from power of the signal changing unit; a process to converse an analog signal of weight entered from a transducer not by using an analog-digital conversion circuit plate.
