PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate anions properly even under a high-humidity environment in relation to an anion generator having an ion generation part to generate the anions in the air by causing movement of negative electrons in the air. SOLUTION: A centrifugal blower 2 to blow air to an ion generation part 3 is installed in the air upstream side of the ion generation part 3. The centrifugal blower 2 has a fan 22 and a motor 23 to drive the fan 22 utilizing electromagnetic force generated by carrying current to a coil 24. The air by the fan 22 cools the coil 24 when passing the periphery of the coil 24, being heated to lower relative humidity, and the air thereby heated is blown to the ion generation part 3 in the downstream side.
