A high resistivity iron-chromium-aluminum alloy, contains alloying additions of silicon and titanium additions. A novel high resistivity iron alloy has the composition 13.5-15.5% Cr, 4.5-6.0% Al, 0.3-0.6% Si, 0.2-0.6% Ti, balance Fe and impurities, with the proviso that Cr% + 6Al% = 49 to 50. Preferred Features: The silicon content is related to the resistivity increase by the equation Si% = (10/* DELTA rho - 1)/1.2, where DELTA rho is the increase in resistivity (mk OMICRON .m) relative to that of alloys with minimal silicon content.
