The system enables attachment of cooling fins directly to the fluid tube. The detailed structure for a collecting box of a heat exchanger comprises a tubular wall (7) to which a series of elements (10) are attached at right angles. The edge of the element (10) is retained between two projections (11) formed in the tube. The projections are formed by local deformation of the tube, such that two sections of the tube are displaced in a direction perpendicular to the axis of the tube. These projections define a channel within which the edge (17) of the element is retained, prior to soldering in position. After insertion of the element, the two projections are further deformed by application of axial forces (F2) to grip the element.
