PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a reel locking member from pressing a reel strongly more than necessary. SOLUTION: This tape cartridge 1 is provided with a pair of reels 3 and 4 for winding a tape 2, a shell 7 rotatably housing the pair of reels 3 and 4 and composed of upper and lower halves 5 and 6, a lid 9 for opening/closing the pocket portion 8 of the shell 7, a reel locking member 11 for locking/ unlocking the reels 3 and 4 in linkage with the opening/closing operation of the lid 9, and a spring member 12 for pressing the reel locking member in a reel locking direction. The tape cartridge 1 is provided with a reel locking member movement regulating means 21 for preventing the further movement of the reel locking member 11 when the reel locking member 1 is moved to a reel locking position.
