Very long chain alkylphenyl polyoxyalkylene amines and fuel compositions containing the same

Very long chain alkylphenyl polyoxyalkylene amines having the formula: wherein R1 is an alkyl group having at least 40 carbon atoms; R2 and R3 are each independently hydrogen or lower alkyl having about 1 to about 2 carbon atoms and each R2 and R3 is independently selected in each -O-CHR2-CHR3- unit; A is an amine moiety derived from ammonia, a primary alkyl monoamine having about 1 to 20 carbon atoms, a secondary dialkyl monoamine having about 1 to 20 carbon atoms in each alkyl group, or a polyamine having about 2 to about 12 amine nitrogen atoms and about 2 to about 40 carbon atoms; x is an integer from about 1 to about 2; and y is an integer from about 5 to about 50. The very long chain alkylphenyl polyoxyalkylene amines of the present invention are useful as fuel additives for the prevention and control of engine deposits.
