PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an expansion joint that can be easily varied to match the joint widths requested by customers. SOLUTION: An expansion joint includes at least a joint main body 1 comprising load supporting members 10 and spring members 11 alternately coupled together and a plate-shaped surface trim member 2 arranged on the upper side of the joint main body 1. The joint main body 1 is formed by securing or attaching a plurality of units U thereto and the surface trim member 2 is formed by removably connecting both ends and a standard middle portion together and, if necessary, additionally connecting an auxiliary middle part having a length that is a natural number times the length of each unit U. The auxiliary middle part can be appropriately selected and additionally connected in accordance with the number of units U constituting the joint main body 1.
