PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a lightweight core material for clothes having moderate rigidity and comfortableness to wear and further toughness for imparting the resistance to washing, etc. SOLUTION: This core material for clothes comprises axial materials consisting essentially of a magnesium alloy. The core material is obtained by using the magnesium alloy comprising preferably 85-91.5% of magnesium, 8-10% of aluminum and 5-0.5% of zinc and as necessary, covering the surface thereof with a plastic material.
