PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brace as a vibration damper, in which resistance force can be set arbitrarily and no buckling is generated, which can absorb large energy, in which no repeated fatigue is generated and which need not be replaced. SOLUTION: In the vibration control braces, two or more of separated plate materials are brought into contact and arranged in parallel at the end sections or central sections of brace materials 41 connected on the upper floor and lower floor of a building, each plate material is coupled with the upper floor and the lower floor, and lead cores penetrated to both plate materials are installed. Relative displacement is generated in the axial direction of the brace materials 41 with the generation of relative story displacement, and shear deformation is compelled to the lead cores. Energy is absorbed by the plastic shear deformation of lead.
