The receiver has at least one oscillator (23) and mixer (21), and predetermined channels are each allocated a rated mean frequency. The correction method involves selection of a channel, with a search channel window of a given channel band width allocated to each channel. A transmitter is searched on the channel within the corresponding search channel window, by continuous change of the oscillator frequency. The oscillator is retuned by the divider frequency, in dependence on the actual mean frequency of the transmitter found on the channel of the rated mean frequency.
