PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an impeller for stirring, with which the mixing of additive having low sp.gr. with molten metal, typically molten iron, can be promoted, related to the impeller for stirring that the molten metal and the additive having lower sp.gr. than that of the molten metal are stirred by dipping the impeller fitted to the tip part of a rotating shaft into the molten metal in a vessel and rotating it. SOLUTION: Relating to the impeller for stirring that the molten metal is stirred by dipping the impeller 1 fitted to the tip part of the rotating shaft 3 into the molten metal in the vessel, the distance (the radius of the base part) from the rotating center at the position nearest the rotating center on the impeller surface in the vertical cross sectional plane to the rotating center is increased toward the tip part side (the radius 14 of the lower base part) from the rotating shaft side (the radius 13 of the upper base part).
