The correction process is applied to a grinding screw (20), which is corrected by a correcting grindstone moved along the screw lands (43) as the screw is rotated. The grinding screw and correcting grind stone are each coupled to a servo motor (22, 40) with an angle setter (23, 41). A control device (45) is used to couple the angle of turn of the correcting grindstone to that of the grinding screw.
