PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a wire core protrusion during cable production or winding by setting a wire core twisting pitch of a cable within a specific range of multiples of a layer core diameter. SOLUTION: This single core twisted type electric wire is provided with, for example, a wire having a conductor 1, an insulator 2, a semiconductive layer 3, a shielded layer 4, a tape wound layer 5 and a sheath 6, three of this wire are twisted in one wire. The wire core protrusion is generated when a wire core twisting pitch is sixty- five times as much as a layer core diameter while the protrusion is not generated when the wire core twisting pitch is under or equal to thirty times as much as the layer core diameter. The maximum wire core twisting pitch that does not generate the wire core protrusion is considered to be between thirty to sixty-five times as much as the layer core diameter. Cables having a variety of wire core twisting pitches are made and tested for confirming whether the protrusion is generated. The test result is that the protrusion is not generated when the wire core twisting pitch is up to sixty times as much as the layer core diameter but the protrusion is generated when the wire core twisting pitch is sixty-five times as much as the layer core diameter. The wire core twisting pitch not generating the protrusion ranges is judged that under or equal to sixty times as much as the layer core diameter.
