PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a soundproof and heat-insulating material that has excellent moisture resistance, fungus resistance, no odor and high flexibility and a wide variety of applications by effectively utilizing microalgae. SOLUTION: Algae that have fixed carbon dioxide through the photosynthetic process are dried and the powdery alga bodies 10 is mixed with a powdery synthetic resin 11 and the resultant mixture is molded. The alga-resin mixture may be combined with plasticizer. These mixtures are molded to plates or sheets and the plates or sheets are covered with protecting films on both of their front and back faces.
