PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition scarcely causing damage to hair and excellent in hair dyeing effects and fastness to fading without any irritant smell at the time of use by composing the composition of an agent containing a specific monoisopropanolamine, etc., and an agent containing an oxidizing agent. SOLUTION: This composition is composed of (A) a first agent containing (i) a monoisopropanolamine represented by formula I in an amount of preferably 0.5-10 wt.% based on the total weight of the ingredient A and (ii) at least one kind of alkyl glucoside represented by formula II (R is a 4-12C alkyl) (preferably octyl glucoside) in an amount of preferably 0.5-5 wt.% based on the total weight of the ingredient A and (B) a second agent containing an oxidizing agent such as hydrogen peroxide in an amount of preferably 0.1-30 wt.% based on the total weight of the ingredient B. The ingredient A usually contains an oxidation dye such as p-phenylenediamine hydrochloride and water.
