PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a treating agent having both of high water-repellent durability (resistance to light, wear resistance) and excellent water-slipping property (water drop-slipping off property) by diluting the reaction product, which is obtained by mixing and copolymerizing a perfluoroalkyltrichlorosilane and a dimethylsiliconediol in a nonaqueous solvent, with a diluting solvent. SOLUTION: The reaction product, which is obtained by mixing and copolymerizing a perfluoroalkyltrichlorosilane (A) expressed by the formula CF3(CF2)m(CH2)2SiCl3 (m) is an integer of 5 to 11} and a dimethylsiliconediol (B) expressed by the formula HO- Si(CH3)2-O}nH (n) is an integer of 5 to 30} in a nonaqueous solvent, is diluted with a diluting agent. The molar ratio of the A-component to the B-component is preferably 1:0.1 to 1:2. As the nonaqueous solvent, e.g. ethyl acetate, n-butyl acetate, toluene, xylene, n-butane, n-hexane or the like is preferably used, and as the diluting solvent, an alcohol containing isopropyl alcohol or ethanol as a main component is suitably used.
