The ignition circuit of the vehicle is influenced indirectly or directly by the mechanism of at least the driver's seat belt in such a way that the energizing of the ignition is possible only with the seat belt fitted. The buckling unit of the seat belt has switch contacts through which passes the ignition circuit so that when the blade is inserted the contacts are closed, and when released the contacts are open.
