PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor having a high electrification potential and sensitivity and capable of expressing stable performance without varying various characteristics even in repeated uses and a phthalocyanine composition used for the same. SOLUTION: An amorphous phthalocyanine composition containing amorphous titanyloxyphthalocyanine and amorphous nonmetal phthalocyanine containing at least one species of titanyloxyphthalocyanine and/or nonmetal phthalocyanin obtained by treating titanyloxyphthalocyanine and/or nonmetal phthalocyanine with an acid paste to make them amorphous and subsequently washing them with one or more of solvents selected from N, N-dimethylformamide, N, N- dimethylacetamide, N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone and dimethyl sulfoxide, or their mixture is crystal-transformed by using water and an aromatic compound.
