PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mounting coil contained in a coverless coil base without bonding and mountable by an automatic mounter. SOLUTION: Upper and lower flat plates 16, 17 having substantially identical dimensions and shape are laid in layer and a coil 11 is contained in the U-shaped recess 15 of a coil base 10 defined by side wall parts 18 forming a gap of a specified interval. Upper surface 19 of the upper flat plate serves as the suction holding part of a mounter and stop protrusions 22 provided at the opposite side edges on the lower surface of the upper flat plate positions a coil (core 13) while preventing lateral shift.
