PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic train control device for shortening brake time of a train by shortening control time of an on-vehicle device by transmitting control information much in a data quantity by a data frame unshortened in ordinary control, and transmitting emergency control information such as stopping control information to the on-vehicle device from an on ground device with shortened frame constitution. SOLUTION: When requiring to stop a train in emergency, a judging bit for showing the fact of being shortening control information is set in a 'frame shortening' frame, and a train control signal for setting train control information of the shortened bit length in a 'control data' frame is transmitted to a rail 13 by a transmitter 12. In an on-vehicle device 15, the train control signal transmitted to the rail 13 from an on ground device 11 is received by a receiving antenna 16, and when confirming the fact of normally receiving the whole frames set in the train control signal, a frame shortening judging bit of the 'frame shortening' frame is recognized, and the train control information of the shortened bit length of the 'control data' frame is decoded and deciphered to automatically control an operation state of a train 14.
