PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle with a brake force holding device capable of smoothly starting the vehicle with a simple structure, regardless of the grade of a place where the vehicle stops. SOLUTION: This vehicle is equipped with a brake force holding device to continuously apply the brake force to the vehicle until start driving force is produced in the vehicle itself even after a braking operation is released by a driver. An amount of braking operation by the driver is detected and the brake force holding device is actuated based on the release speed of the amount of brake operation in this vehicle with a brake force holding device. The brake force holding device is actuated, on condition that the release speed of the amount of brake operation exceeds a designated value. As the release speed of the amount of the brake operation gets bigger, the brake force holding device applies bigger brake force to the vehicle. The brake force holding device gradually reduces brake force applied to the vehicle, and makes a gradually reduced speed to gradually reduce the brake force less, as the release speed of the amount of brake operation gets bigger.
