PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a malfunction at the time of returning a recording sheet when performing printing long in the sub scan direction with ink such as process color, white and clear.SOLUTION: An ink jet printer comprises: a carriage 130-3 which is freely movable in the main scan direction; conveyance means which conveys a medium in the sub scan direction; a first ink jet nozzle 103a which is mounted on the carriage and discharges the process color ink; a second ink jet nozzle 103b which is arranged so as to be deviated in the direction orthogonal to the main scan direction with respect to the first ink jet nozzle and discharges the clear ink; first light irradiation means 106-2 which is arranged on one side in the main scan direction of the first ink jet nozzle and is turned on while the first ink jet nozzle discharges the process color ink; and second light irradiation means 54 which is arranged so as to protrude to the medium feeding direction side with respect to the second ink jet nozzle and is turned on while the second ink jet nozzle discharges the clear ink.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 68 |
