PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and quickly provide an optimum adjustment state. SOLUTION: A display picture 1 is bisected into a left region and a right region, the left part 2L of a source image 2 is displayed in the left region and simultaneously an image for which the image quality of the right part of the source image 2 is adjusted is displayed in the right region as an adjustment image 3R. In this state, a person performing adjustment changes the direction and degree of the adjustment and sets the optimum adjustment state. When the optimum adjustment state is attained, the person performing the adjustment cancels an image quality adjustment mode. Thus, an adjusted image 9 for which the image quality of the entire source image 2 is adjusted is displayed in the entire region of the display picture 1. The image for which the source image 2 is compressed to the position and size of the left region can be displayed inside the left area and simultaneously the image for which the image quality of the image for which the source image 2 is compressed to the position and size of the right region is adjusted can be displayed inside the right region.
