PURPOSE: A mask for color cathode ray tube is provided to improve a vibration attenuation effect and luminance by reducing vibration between electron beam strips. CONSTITUTION: A tension mask(70) has a multitude of strip(71,71') and a plurality of real bridges(73). The strips(71,71') are parallel formed according to a predetermined interval. The real bridges(73) are used for dividing a slot(72) passing an electron beam by connecting neighboring strips(71,71') to each other. The number of the real bridges(73) is reduced from a center of the tension mask(70) to a peripheral portion of the tension mask(70). A vertical pitch of the real bridge(73) is increased from the center of the tension mask(70) to an X-axis. The real bridges(73) are randomly arrayed to reduce vibration. A small number of real bridges(73) is formed or is not formed between an ed strip(74) located at an end portion of the tension mask(70) and a neighboring strip(71).
