PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dielectric filter and a dielectric duplexer the manufactur ing cost of which can be decreased and with which a prescribed characteristic can be easily obtained and to provide a communication unit provided with them. SOLUTION: Inner conductor forming holes 2a, 2b, 2c with an inner conductor formed in the inside of the holes are placed in the inside of a dielectric block 1, an outer surface of the block 1 is coated with an outer conductor 4, the shape of opening ends of the inner conductor forming holes 2a, 2b and 2c is made to be round with nearly the same diameter, and the cross-sectional shape at the short-circuit end of a part of the inner conductor forming holes is made to be rectangular among the inner conductor forming holes.
